As an artist living and working in Argyll, one of the most attractive and unspoilt coastal areas in the West of Scotland, it is not surprising that many of my paintings feature seascapes, sky and boats. The seasonal changes in colour and light across Scotlands stunning landscape inspire many photographers and artists, but as an animal lover, my greatest challenge and my greatest reward, is to succeed in capturing the personality of an animal or person on the page or to be able to recreate the spirit and emotion of a particular moment in time. My preferred medium is oil but I also enjoy working in water colour, pastels and pen and ink. I combine my work as an artist with supporting a number of animal welfare charities. Please take a moment or two to investigate some of the wonderful charity work being done around the world to rescue millions of unfortunate creatures from a life of pain and misery and to educate people in good animal husbandry. |
